There is a lot of talk about our prospects, as Republicans, in 2o12. I offer you this; Bush/Palin.
I don't think that a Bush/Palin ticket could be beaten. Yes, I am aware that 43 made a lot of errors. I am aware that his changes to medical benefits were wrong. Yes, I admit that his reaction to the terrors of 2008 was wrong.
But, he's not a stupid man. He's a smart man. And after a couple of years out of office, I believe that he understands in ways you and I cannot, the Tea Party Movement.
Pundits are asking the question, who in 2012? Romney? That Southern guy? I hope you know that I believe that the best candidate we had in 2008 was Guiliani. He ran a campaign poorly. But if you haven't watched him, that's your fault.
You can fix that by going to Annenberg Media.
It should take you to the Annenberg Media "learner.org" site. The link is for a discussion on immigration law. If you get stuck at registration, go ahead. It's free and immediate. If you get stuck, the main page for this series of videos is here. Scroll down to “11.Immigration Reform” and click the “VoD” button. You will be asked to register. It’s free and fast.
The bad news is, GW will never again be President. The good news is, Bubba will not, either.
Do I think that GW made mistakes? Yes. Did he cost us control of the House and Senate? No. The House and Senate are responsible for their own institutions. The current debate over issues like ObamaCare, earmarks and committee assignments are interesting, as they are instructive. We, as Republicans, have the pen that will write history in our own hand. How we choose to write that history will be intereresting to say the least.
