Oregon Politicians Who Ignore The Law

In a post below I note that Portland's Mayor had had law pointed out to him. He ignores it. Oh, well. That's what lefties teach each other to do. No. Serially.

Here's a reply from Tom Potter's office on the "legal" issues surrounding the mayor's plan to provide illegal aliens a place to get illegal work: from Daniel's Political Musings.

"We are admitting to creating a hire site for day laborers, which is not synonymous with "illegal alien"; therefore, you are incorrect in presuming that we are admitting to assisting illegal aliens. It is true that many of those seeking day labor may be in this country. But, given ORS 181.850 and the policies of this City, that is immaterial. We cannot arrest any person based on alienage." There's more at Daniel's site.

The upshot is, leadership in Portland doesn't care about the law. And since the State's Attorney General is running around showing kids Algore's movie, we don't have an enforcement capability, anyway. But the animals are cute.

Law Enforcement for Elected Officials

This comes from Victoria Taft. Maybe there is a way to stop elected officials from breaking the law and spending public funds to do so. Click on letter for full view.

We're Not Killing This Animal

Busy. It's summer. Read Danegerous. If they can close down Oregon over a bird, imagine what they can close down with global warming.

Oh, and it's not even good science.

Why We Win

Outside the Wire. Read the story. Watch the video.

Where's Your Brain?

I got nothing. It's August and the job has taken over my life.

That's not a bad thing. As Pappy used to say, "make hay when the sun shines." What a wordsmith, my pap.

Where's Your Brain clues you into the reality of a Leftist's resume. The problem usually is, there isn't much "there" there.
