Oregon's Democrats Most Ethical Ever

Welcome to the World of State Senator Betsy Johnson. Betsy is having a little trouble. Seems she's been doing things she shouldn't oughta.

To be fair, she calls her actions "a mistake". And people make mistakes. So anyone suggesting that she deliberately and purposefully chose to violate the law and the senate's ethics rules are way off base.

Oregon's democrats are ethical. In fact, they are so ethical that they've already let you know about their intention to disregard the state's constitution in order to hold annual session. Only democrats has the ethical footing to clearly avoid the limitations of the law.

We are a progressive state. We have the Bottle Bill. I'm sure Betsy's problems will soon blow over.

At least, I hope so.

I Thought This Was Illegal?

Aren't legislators supposed to refrain from accepting gifts from political action committees while they're in session?

I guess ORS 260.174 doesn't mean much to the Senator. But this is a campaign contribution.

Oregon Reps Make Sense on Immigration

“Oregonians demand immigration reform, and they expect their state government to take action,” said House Republican Leader Wayne Scott (R-Canby). “House Republicans have an effective agenda for action at the state level. Democrats rejected this agenda, preferring to pass non-binding resolutions that punt the problem to the federal government.”
It's about time somebody pointed out the the Democrats are counting votes in the Leftie strongholds. More illegals, more votes. Just ask Governor Gregoire.
Get the plan here (pdf).
“Time is running out for common sense immigration reforms,” Rep. Flores said. There are only a few weeks left this session, and Oregon has fallen behind other states that have already enacted immigration reforms this year.

Added Rep. Thatcher, “Congress is failing to act, and with session coming to an end, the Oregon Legislature has a responsibility to fix our laws that allow illegal aliens to obtain state documents, services and benefits.”

For Governor K Military Just Photo Opp

Our poor governor. He's surrounded by people who tell him how brilliant he is.
So his office puts out a press release telling us that the K will meet returning Guardsmen of the 41st Brigade Combat Team. Just that. No more. Here's what the gov doesn't tell us.
Pictured to the left is Brigadier General Douglas A Pritt who was awarded the State of Afghanistan's Medal of Bravery by Abdul Karim Kahili, Vice President of Afghanistan.

Why Rudy?

Here's a Classic

Want a better society? It's what the democrats in Salem want for you. But how to pay?

Well, why not force the insurance companies to pay? Sure! Great idea. And it won't cost the government a dime? Why? Because mandated services are free! Just because I'm an unmarried male doesn't exclude me from the coverage. Because that would be sexist.

"Governor Kulongoski to Sign the Access to Birth Control Act

Who: Governor Ted Kulongoski, Senator Kate Brown, Representatives Diane Rosenbaum and Carolyn Tomei, Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and other legislative leaders.

What: Signing of HB 2700

Where: Patio off of the Governor’s Ceremonial Office*
State Capitol
Salem

*Enter through the Ceremonial Office

When: Wednesday, May 30, 2007

With this legislation Democrats are forcing rates for health insurance higher at precisely the same time they are asking for greater access to health insurance. Hope you're having a nice day!
