We need a Governor who takes global warming more seriously. As a tool. To make Oregon better.
When we were kids, there were a couple of things, we were taught, that we have no control over.
One was the "common cold". The other, the weather.
Now the Doom and Gloom advocates of teh Left are telling you that Man Is Responsible for Global Warming.
And I ask the question, "Okay, if so, then what degree of Global Warming should be plan for, before we begin reducing global temperatures?"
The
IPCC projects a global temperature
increase of anywhere from 1.4 - 5.8°C from 1990-2100.
Way cool. But the advocates of Global Warming are making a serious tactical error in their arguments against industrialization. Instead of attempting to decrease man-made greenhouse gasses, they should ramp them up!
Give me a 2°C increase in the next five years, and I'll be happy. Then, whatever it is we did to ramp up the temp a quick 2c, turn it off. We'll be a little warmer? Yeah. We'll have better farm crops? Yeah. The number of solar radiation induced mutants will decrease? Oh, yeah. And we have only touched the surface.
Not only would this short-term increase in the world's temperature benefit me, it would also "prove" to the skeptics that man-made gasses are a): responsible for increases in temperature; and b) that we can finally control our climate. And what an incredible economic tool for us!
If agriculture in China starts to take off, we can reduce the amount of man-made gasses increasing the global temperature to a point where it's the Ice Age again!
Let's get serious. What does Oregon offer, beyond gray, gloomy days? Why not become the next Temperate Zone? That would seriously drive up the value of my home, I'm thinking.
We need to get serious about Global Warming. Why does the Governor oppose a warmer, gentler Oregon?
